Everything you need to know about Rottweilers
Rottweilers are a famous and loved breed in the US. They are nick-named as ‘Rotties’. When raised the right way, they have an exceptionally charming personality, playful nature, and are really confident.
They are leaners, this means that they lean into their owner to show them love and affection.
Rottweilers are muscular and large. They have a black coat and short hair, this means that you won’t have to groom them as often as you have to groom dogs with longer hair or coats. They are very strong and their build allows them to have a high endurance.
Rottweilers are really affectionate to their owners. Sometimes, they will get overly protective of you and have problems ‘sharing’ you with other pets in your home. They have that jealous nature, so don’t be surprised when you see them behave that way. The puppies are intelligent and easy to train. However, they can sometimes prove to be stubborn but that really just depends on the situation.
If you have other pets, then it is essential you teach your Rottie how to live with them from a very early age. The breed can get hip dysplasia and cancer. This means that you have to be on the lookout all the time. Get them evaluated by a vet on a regular basis, so you can catch the disease, if there is any, at an early stage, before it grows aggressive.
Rotties are a calm breed. They love to go on walks with their owners and can get obese if you do not take them on a walk regularly. They also get bored quickly, so you will have to keep them entertained. The dogs are unaware of their size, and will often jump in your lap and be extra cuddly.
All and all, they make an excellent furry companion!
